Diverse organisations understand their clients’ needs better, they make better decisions and they are better places to work.
Harwood Hutton welcomes diversity, encourages personal development and rewards performance within a working environment where everyone is treated fairly and in the same way.
It is our policy that employees should never be subject to any acts of discrimination or harassment by reason of their age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, pregnancy, maternity, race (which includes colour, nationality and ethnic or national origins), sexual orientation, religion or belief, or because someone is married or in a civil partnership.
We are committed to promoting equal opportunities in all areas of recruitment, employment, training and career development for all employees according to the opportunities available, organisational requirements and individual attitudes and abilities.
We also recognise the need for our personnel to balance their career and domestic responsibilities and support flexible working hours where possible.
Although diversity monitoring is carried out and reviewed by management, by their nature the results of such reviews are sensitive.
At the end of March 2023, we gave all our employees the opportunity to respond to an ICAEW-generated diversity questionnaire. A number of employees chose not to reply, and some of our people “prefer not to say” which we respect, but a majority of colleagues across the Harwood Hutton group took part in the survey and we can publish some details.
