Audit and Accounts Manager

The role: The Audit and Accounts Manager will provide accounting, auditing and taxation services to clients, and be responsible for compliance with policies and procedures to enable the Audit and Accounts Department to work productively and efficiently They will allocate work appropriately to ensure the team is fully utilised and their skills developed They will provide professional coaching and support where required, and address areas for improvement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide professional coaching and support to seniors and trainees in respect of technical matters
  • Attend weekly planner meetings, having prepared accordingly to ensure the team is fully utilised and their skills developed
  • Recommend areas for policy and efficiency improvement and changes for adoption
  • Complete delegated administrative responsibilities by required deadlines
  • Carry out staff appraisals
  • Build professional client relationships
  • Complete client service requirements to the required standards
  • Plan and delegate client related work to internal, external and/or statutory deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with assignment budgets and deadlines
The successful candidate will:

  • Hold either ICAEW or ACCA qualification with a strong academic background.
  • Possess a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience in a similar practice based role.
  • Have experience managing staff, including trainees and seniors.
  • Undertake technical research and other training as required.
  • Have a high level of personal pride in own work; responsibility and initiative would be expected.
  • Where appropriate, this should be balanced with the need to report back to Directors to keep them informed of job progression and additional client requirements and ensure their agreement.
  • Possess a high degree of autonomy, whilst still operating within expected firm procedures and processes.
  • Proven experience of reviewing and overseeing a wide variety of accounting assignments.
  • Have a degree of exposure to group/consolidated accounts.
  • Have proven experience of reviewing and overseeing a variety of statutory audit assignments.
  • Have proven experience in reviewing and ensuring accuracy of corporation tax computations for a variety of companies.
  • Have an exceptional level of personal organisation and a proven ability to manage staff time and meet deadlines.
  • Have exceptional technical competence and experience.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and logical skills.
  •  Be technically up to date with awareness of relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Have unquestionable integrity, with excellent communication skills and a flexible, adaptable and committed attitude.
  • Have very strong planning skills to provided high standards of client care within tight deadlines. Assessing staff needs and preparing budgets.
  • Have the ability to work well within a highly professional team environment.
  • Be able to train junior staff, assess and meet their training needs to develop well rounded, highly skilled seniors.

Audit Senior

The role: This role encompasses responsible planning and completion of audit to a high standard of technical competence, and delivered with a good degree of autonomy, within budget and client expectations. The Audit Senior will work directly with clients and other staff, including directly with Directors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for achieving agreed budgets and meeting deadlines
  • Setting objectives for more junior staff members and supervise, review and coach on the job where necessary
  • Ensuring review points are cleared and addressing follow up queries until the audit report is signed. Subsequently ensuring file is complete and close down within 60 days of signing.
  • Acting as first point of contact for clients, ensuring queries at dealt with in a prompt manor.
  • Maintaining technical ability and tracking CPD.
  • The majority of our audits do not require an overnight stay so there will not be any substantial time will be spent away from home.
  • The successful candidate will join our team of driven professionals and will help to service our well-established, and ever strengthening, client base.
  • We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:
  • Pro-active communication with Audit and Accounts (“A&A”) Managers and Directors to enable consistent work flow and effective work planning;
  • The ability to train and supervise more junior team members, supporting their growth as they move through the firm;
  • Professional and friendly communication with clients and fellow colleagues; and a dedication to technical competence and your own continuing professional development.

  • have proven experience working within an accounting practice environment,
  • have led ISA-compliant Statutory audits on behalf of clients
  • proven experience acting as a senior and overseeing junior work
  • display unquestionable integrity, excellent verbal and written communication
  • demonstrate strong logical and analytical skills;
  • be flexible and organised in managing their own time to deadlines; and
  • be able to work in a highly professional team environment.

Corporate Finance & Forensic Services Executive

The role:This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of driven professionals helping to service our client base. This role encompasses timely and cost effective completion of Corporate Finance and Forensic assignments, mainly consisting of ad hoc projects as instructed by the Corporate & Forensic Services Partner.

This is a permanent full time position, based in our Beaconsfield office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on transactions such as acquisitions, disposals, corporate restructurings, due diligence, valuations, fund raising and other ad hoc projects.
  • Preparation of forensic accounting reports, for example, loss quantification, business valuation and matrimonial disputes.
  • Research and preparation of corporate finance bid/proposal documents and related documentation for Partner review.
  • Build good rapport with the clients, with a clear understanding of client expectations.
  • Attend training courses, keeping technical knowledge up to date.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures.
  • Agreement of assignment budgets with the Partner as work commences, regular monitoring of progress against budget and feedback to the Partner.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate responsibility and initiative, as far as experience allows, balanced with the need to keep the Corporate & Forensic Services Partner informed of actions and ensure his agreement.
  • Possess the ability to understand complex challenges faced by clients and explain the solutions.
  • Analytical and logical skills to understand key client and business issues and interpret financial data, understand complex business models and produce meaningful and concise reports
  • Technical competence and experience: attention to detail in technical matters is a prerequisite
  • Good communication skills (both in writing and orally)
  • Technically up to date with awareness of relevant regulatory frameworks
  • Professional and ethical skills, displaying integrity at all times
  • Organised and able to manage own time and deadlines
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to cope with pressure on projects sometimes requiring work beyond usual hours
  • Flexible, adaptable and committed attitude

Education and Training:

  • Finalist or newly qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent.
  • CPD to be maintained as required.
  • Technical Research and other training will be available as required.

  • Upon agreement and after successful probationary period, we offer a flexible home working policy covering up to two days per week
