AUDIT AND ACCOUNTS SENIOR

The role: This role encompasses responsible planning and completion of both audit and accounting assignments to a high standard of technical competence, and delivered within budget and client expectations. The successful candidate will join our team of driven professionals and will help to service our well-established, and ever strengthening, client base.

The majority of our audits do not require an overnight stay so there will not be any substantial time will be spent away from home.

We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:

  • Pro-active communication with Audit and Accounts (“A&A”) Managers and Directors to enable consistent work flow and effective work planning;
  • The ability to train and supervise more junior team members, supporting their growth as they move through the firm;
  • Professional and friendly communication with clients and fellow colleagues; and
  • A dedication to technical competence and your own continuing professional

  • The A&A Senior will work directly with clients and other staff across all departments, including directly with Directors.

The successful candidate will:

  • hold either an ICAEW or ACCA qualification with a strong academic background;
  • have proven experience working within an accounting practice environment,
  • have led ISA-compliant Statutory audits on behalf of clients
  • display unquestionable integrity, excellent verbal and written communication
  • demonstrate strong logical and analytical skills;
  • be flexible and organised in managing their own time to deadlines; and
  • be able to work in a highly professional team environment.

Audit Senior

The role: This role encompasses responsible planning and completion of audit to a high standard of technical competence, and delivered with a good degree of autonomy, within budget and client expectations. The Audit Senior will work directly with clients and other staff, including directly with Directors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for achieving agreed budgets and meeting deadlines
  • Setting objectives for more junior staff members and supervise, review and coach on the job where necessary
  • Ensuring review points are cleared and addressing follow up queries until the audit report is signed. Subsequently ensuring file is complete and close down within 60 days of signing.
  • Acting as first point of contact for clients, ensuring queries at dealt with in a prompt manor.
  • Maintaining technical ability and tracking CPD.

Trainee Payroll Administrator

The role: Due to an expanding client base we are looking for a full-time, permanent, trainee administrator to work in our busy payroll bureau department. You will be an integral part of a team of 5.

No previous experience of payroll is required, this is an apprenticeship role offering full training over an 18 month period. Ideally experience of working in an office with knowledge of MS Excel and/or Word skills, but not essential.

With support and training the Key responsibilities will be:

  • Ensuring clients Weekly and Monthly payrolls are processed
  • Ensure timely and accurate data input
  • Liaise with clients and HMRC regarding payroll queries
  • Ensure timely RTI filings
  • Ensure Auto Enrolment processes are timely and accurate
  • Dealing with pension portals for various schemes
  • Prepare payroll related reports
  • Skills required/acquired through training
  • Readiness to learn new skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Able to organise and manage time efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
  • Confident when speaking/working with clients

Corporate Finance & Forensic Services Executive

The role:This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of driven professionals helping to service our client base. This role encompasses timely and cost effective completion of Corporate Finance and Forensic assignments, mainly consisting of ad hoc projects as instructed by the Corporate & Forensic Services Partner.

This is a permanent full time position, based in our Beaconsfield office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on transactions such as acquisitions, disposals, corporate restructurings, due diligence, valuations, fund raising and other ad hoc projects.
  • Preparation of forensic accounting reports, for example, loss quantification, business valuation and matrimonial disputes.
  • Research and preparation of corporate finance bid/proposal documents and related documentation for Partner review.
  • Build good rapport with the clients, with a clear understanding of client expectations.
  • Attend training courses, keeping technical knowledge up to date.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures.
  • Agreement of assignment budgets with the Partner as work commences, regular monitoring of progress against budget and feedback to the Partner.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate responsibility and initiative, as far as experience allows, balanced with the need to keep the Corporate & Forensic Services Partner informed of actions and ensure his agreement.
  • Possess the ability to understand complex challenges faced by clients and explain the solutions.
  • Analytical and logical skills to understand key client and business issues and interpret financial data, understand complex business models and produce meaningful and concise reports
  • Technical competence and experience: attention to detail in technical matters is a prerequisite
  • Good communication skills (both in writing and orally)
  • Technically up to date with awareness of relevant regulatory frameworks
  • Professional and ethical skills, displaying integrity at all times
  • Organised and able to manage own time and deadlines
  • Good IT skills

Tax Senior

The role: This role reports to the manager of our Private Client Services team and the successful candidate will be responsible for a portfolio of clients and will deal with tax returns and other compliance issues.

The successful candidate will join our team of driven professionals and will help to service our well established and ever-strengthening client base.

The key objectives of the job holder are to:

  • Prepare tax returns accurately
  • Communicate with clients and answer their queries
  • Communicate with HMRC
  • Complete all work within budget
  • Identify planning opportunities and bring to attention of manager
  • Gain and maintain technical competence

The Tax Senior will work with clients, the manager of Private Client Services and other members of the PCS team; and with other staff and directors.

The major required outcomes are to complete tax returns correctly and to meet client and HMRC deadlines. There is also a requirement to respond to client communications on a timely basis and to manage their own workload and workflow. To achieve this the job holder will have to ensure that all necessary information is available (and recognise when it is not); chase clients for information if needed and work to tight deadlines.

The successful applicant will be numerate, IT-literate, able to work under pressure, results focussed within a time-limit and budget and have an eye for detail. They will be at least A-level standard, with 3 years’ experience in a Tax department within an accountancy firm. CTA is preferred but not essential, or alternatively qualified by experience.

Tax Assistant/Trainee

The role: We are looking for someone to gain experience and training in a wide variety of tax disciplines in order to display increasing skills in the working environment and achieve ATT qualifications.

As a member of our tax team, and reporting to the Tax Manager, the successful candidate will
be required to ensure:

  • Timely and cost effective completion of tasks assigned
  • That they meet deadlines and budgets and communicate progress to seniors and
  • manager.
  • They are able gradually to train and supervise more junior team members
  • Professional and friendly communication with clients
  • That they progress to achieve professional qualification
  • All the time complying with the firm’s operating procedures as laid down in the quality manual and the practice administration manual in so far as they relate to the tax trainee role

Some personal characteristics include technical competence and experience appropriate to their level within team and technically up to date with relevant regulatory frameworks appropriate to level of experience/qualification.

Candidates will be professional, displaying integrity, good communication, analytical and logical skills. They will be organised and able to manage their own time and deadlines, good IT skills, able to cope with pressure, along with being flexible, adaptable, committed and able to work within a team.

Candidates will have A Levels or relevant NVQ qualifications, a University degree is optional. They will progress toward ATT qualifications, and further studying is desired.

Senior Management Accountant (experienced)

The role: We are looking for the right person to join our growing outsourced accounting team on a permanent full-time basis working Monday to Friday. The role is mainly office-based but there could be occasions when travel may be required to client’s premises.

The successful applicant will have primary responsibility for maintaining the client’s accounting records and providing other services, such as preparing statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, VAT returns and management accounts, for a range of clients including sole traders, limited companies and partnerships from a wide range of industries and varying in size. They will also be responsible for mentoring and training junior members of the team and delegating them appropriate tasks to aid their development.

The successful applicant is able to:

  • Provide accounting and corporation tax services to clients accurately and to budget and time deadlines.
  • Undertake efficient and accurate bookkeeping in respect of client’s accounting records.
  • Prepare client’s VAT returns with a high level of technical understanding and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Prepare client’s management accounts including relating working papers to a high degree of accuracy with a view meeting monthly/quarterly deadlines.
  • Support and mentor Accounts Assistants within the department including reviewing their work.
  • Respond to ad hoc client request in respect of their accounting records.
  • Build solid and trusting relationships with clients and staff.

The successful applicants will need:

  • Self-discipline to work efficiently toward meeting statutory accounts, VAT return and CT600 submission and Management Accounts reporting deadlines
  • Sound experience of bookkeeping and preparation of VAT Returns
  • A good knowledge of VAT including post Brexit changes
  • Familiar with FRS102(1A) and FRS105 reporting requirements
  • Management Accounts experience
  • Good effective communication skills
  • Experience of Xero Cloud Accounting Software – preferred
  • Previous managerial/mentor experience – preferred
